On September 21, Mallorca’s capital city will be devoted entirely to art. Originally set up by the ArtPalma gallerists’ association to help people get over their inhibitions about visiting galleries and museums, Palma’s “Nit de l’Art” has become the island’s leading art event. Now in its 28th edition, the event marks the start of the island’s artistic season.

Last year around 30,000 visitors took the opportunity to visit some 30 galleries, artists’ studios and museums free of charge from 7.00 p.m. through midnight on the opening evening. Mallorca’s vibrant young art scene presents itself out on the streets with new exhibitions, performances, and happenings. Be sure to look more closely – young artists will be showing their work all around the old town in bars, workshops, stores, and on building façades.

The “Nit de l’Art” combines art, music, and a street festival to create one big Spanish fiesta.
