Sóller’s “Fira de Sóller” festival starts with a bustling traders’ and artisans’ market, leading up to the main event: the Es Firó festival on Monday. There’s so much to see, with local farmers, artists, and craftspeople showing off and selling their goods. Plus, there are plenty of other fun events happening throughout the fira!

Things kick off with the election of two young women as the “valentes dones” (brave women) to honor the heroic women from the famous battle. Locals, dressed in stunning 16th-century costumes, join a big procession. A statue of the Virgin Mary is carried down Carrer de Sa Lluna to Sant Bartomeu Church, with everyone adding flowers along the way to create a beautiful floral skirt for her.
