Through the Valley of Silence from the romantic mountain village of Valldemossa to Bunyolaa Calobra

Scenic drive along the picturesque coastal road via Deià to Valldemossa. Short tour of the famous village. We first walk downhill past well-tended terraced gardens and then further uphill with fantastic views of the mountain village and the bay of Palma to Finca Son Vera. Ascending again, we walk past ancient, gnarled olive trees and reach the unknown mountain valley of Pastoritx. An old mule track leads us further downhill through the mixed forest in a ravine. We soon reach the Raixeta finca ruin.

Here we take our local picnic and enjoy the tranquillity of this beautiful valley. We continue past fields and meadows to the pretty Finca Raixa. Famous as a piece of Italy on Mallorca. A landmark of neoclassical architecture on the island. We take a leisurely walk past almond plantations to the Caubet railway station. Ride on the historic train, the "Red Lightning", to the orange valley in Sóller. Here we change trains and take the historic tram back to Port de Sóller.
