A visit by bike at Sebastian´s orange grove

There is a place where lemon trees get ecologically fertilized with native olive oil, where huge pomelos and sugar-sweet oranges grow and where locals welcome guests in their garden. That´s the place where Sebastian lives. The vigorous Mallorcan has been cultivating fruit in the Orange Valley for life and is dedicated to organic farming. For visitors, he has created a path through his plantation. Let´s have a look!

Sebastian and his wife are true Mallorcans. Their pictureque finca is set in front of the impressive backdrop of the Tramuntana mountains in the middle of a huge orange grove. The fruits are sold on the island and even sent to Europe - directly to your home with Fet a Soller. Demand and popularity increasing.

So the idea was born to open the gates to the world of lemons & Co. for visitors, introduce them to the cultivation and make them "homesick for the Orange Valley" after leaving.

In the midst of 2,000 citrus trees you will learn the difference between limes and lemons, why green peels do not say anything about the degree of ripeness and that citrus trees carry flowers and fruits at the same time.

The highlight is Buddhas´hand - a fingered lemon. Looks cool but is not really productive - keep away!

Things look different with the juicy local varieties: Navelina, Valencia Lat, Canoneta, Pere & Co. seduce you like the snake did with Adam in paradise. So stay away!

Your tour ends with a chat, a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and perhaps an eternal friendship with this unique region.

The Ecovinyassa is located between Soller and Fornalutx, easily to reach by bicycle from Port Soller. The flat approach is done in 30 minutes (7 kilometers).
