Easy cycle tour | 16 km per direction | 1 h per direction

This is just the perfect tour for beginners. No ups and downs. Always straight ahead. Beach, water, harbour and salt pans. Everything that the south of Mallorca has to offer…

Set off on the cycle path along Platja Es Trenc in the direction of Sa Rápita, just behind Es Trenc beach. The pictureque beach is 8 kilometres long, is a nature reserve and is surrounded by pine trees, junipers and rosemary. A detour around the Salines de Llevant takes you to snow-white salt mountains and salt lakes, where you can see lots of birds, especially in spring and autumn. Even flamingos - cool Instagram motif!

Sa Rápita marks the end of the Caribbean beach and the nature reserve. The town used to be a bulwark that the Mallorcans built against pirate attacks. The Torre de Son Duri, set in the harbour area, is a last witness to this time.

The route continues along the seafront to the small village of s'Estanyol, which is more like the end of the island, as hardly anyone has ever heard of the place. Here, ospreys and cormorants say goodnight with a view of the neighbouring island of Cabrera.

But it's cosy and quiet here and a stop at one of the excellent fish restaurants is a must before you cool off in the sea and cycle back.

PS: The farmers market in Sa Rápita takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Time for shopping fresh products!
